{"id":112964,"date":"2025-05-18T23:57:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-18T23:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/112964\/"},"modified":"2025-05-18T23:57:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-18T23:57:08","slug":"liver-king-exposed-for-lying-about-raw-animal-diet-extreme-workouts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/112964\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Liver King&#8217; exposed for lying about &#8216;raw animal&#8217; diet, extreme workouts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fitness influencer was exposed for lying to millions of his followers, claiming he was following a very specific, bizarre diet and lifting a crazy amount of weight in the gym. <\/p>\n<p>Brian Johnson is known for his barbarian-like ways: a caveman diet \u2013 which he claimed consisted of animal liver, testicles and fertilised chicken eggs, and outrageous workout routines \u2014 which would include bench-pressing hundreds of weights underwater.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson\u2019s extreme ways allowed him to create a name for himself online, \u201cLiver King\u201d with millions of people \u2014 known as his \u2018Primals\u2019 \u2014 obsessed with his every move. <\/p>\n<p>He claimed he earned his Greek God-like physique by following this insane diet and an intense exercise regimen, with just a few supplemental pills. <\/p>\n<p>Johnson also claimed that his two sons were in poor health before they switched to an organ-based diet, which \u201ccured them.\u201d This claim led people to regularly purchase his liver supplements, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/7284988\/untold-the-liver-king-true-story-netflix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Time. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The influencer claimed that his lifestyle was all natural and raw.<br \/>liverking\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>It turns out the father of two allegedly misled the public \u2014 and in fact, it came out in 2022, thanks to leaked emails, that he was actually spending $11,000 a month on steroids to achieve his physique. <\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tv\/34818316\/liver-king-con-testicles-diet-netflix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Sun<\/a>, Johnson supposedly created a $300 million empire for himself, which led him to deny any steroid use. <\/p>\n<p>Yet, the truth finally caught up to him and he had no choice but to admit that he was using \u201cpharmacy-grade human growth hormones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Liver King posing with fans \u2014 his \u201cPrimals.\u201d liverking\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>While one would assume this would\u2019ve been the end of Johnson \u2014 Netflix just released a documentary on the 48-year-old titled \u201cUntold:\u00a0The\u00a0Liver King.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s a marketing genius, I really do,\u201d director Joe Pearlman told Time. \u201cThe guy just knows what an audience wants and how to sell stuff to an audience in every sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While one would assume this would\u2019ve been the end of Johnson \u2014 Netflix just released a documentary on the 48-year-old titled \u201cUntold:\u00a0The\u00a0Liver King.\u201d liverking\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never expected this exposure in the public eye, and it\u2019s been tricky as f-ck to navigate,\u201d Johnson said to cameras in the documentary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do I repent? I don\u2019t know what comes next. I don\u2019t have the answer to that yet,\u201d the 48-year-old continued. <\/p>\n<p>Johnson is not the first \u2014 and certainly won\u2019t be the last \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/04\/i-was-a-toxic-fitness-influencer-dont-fall-for-the-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fitness influencer to lie<\/a> to gain a massive following. <\/p>\n<p>UK online fitness coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hannahbarryuk\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hannah Barry<\/a> revealed some of the truths behind public fitness personas. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI used to be a really toxic fitness influencer,\u201d she said in a viral <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@hannahbarryuk\/video\/7184513522116742406?is_copy_url=1&amp;is_from_webapp=v1&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TikTok<\/a>\u00a0video. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow I\u2019m just not so toxic and I want to tell you some bulls\u2013t that goes on within the fitness industry that you probably don\u2019t know about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never really did any of the ab workouts I actually did,\u201d she said. \u201cThey just got millions of views.
