{"id":1130950,"date":"2026-08-05T02:01:55","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T02:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1130950\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T02:01:55","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T02:01:55","slug":"a-quarter-of-eu-citizens-buy-tickets-online-for-events-news-articles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1130950\/","title":{"rendered":"A quarter of EU citizens buy tickets online for events &#8211; News articles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">With festivals and concerts filling up the summer calendar, many people are buying tickets to events online.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">In 2025, 26.8% of people in the <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:European_Union_(EU)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EU<\/a> had purchased tickets online for events in the previous 3 months, prior to the annual <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:EU_survey_on_the_use_of_ICT_in_households_and_by_individuals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">survey on ICT usage in households and by individuals<\/a>. This figure was up 3.8 <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Percentage_point\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">percentage points<\/a> (pp) compared with 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">Among the EU countries, Ireland had the highest share, with more than half of individuals having bought tickets online for events in the past 3 months (51.5%), ahead of the Netherlands (48.1%) and Denmark (47.9%).
