David Austin Roses<\/a> has unveiled its newest rose \u2013 The King\u2019s Rose \u2013 to honour His Majesty King Charles III <\/a>and the monarch’s “lifelong dedication to nature and horticulture.”<\/p>\n

Announced for Chelsea Flower Show 2025<\/a>, the delicate rose boasts distinct stripes in shades of fuchsia pink and white.<\/p>\n

The latest in the breeder\u2019s nursery and the first striped offering, The King\u2019s Rose produces semi-double, repeat-flowering blooms, with at least 20 buds per stem. It\u2019s also easy on the nose, thanks to a light to medium musk scent, with hints of fresh apple and rose water. <\/p>\n

The versatile shrub, which can grow to approximately three to four feet tall, has a vase-shaped growth habit and heart-shaped leaves, with vibrant yellow stems to attract pollinators.<\/a><\/p>\n

As with all David Austin roses, The King\u2019s Rose underwent an intensive 12-year breeding process, with more than 40,000 seedlings carefully nurtured, evaluated and gradually shortlisted until one final one met the highest standards of fragrance, beauty and robustness.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, over the past three years, this particular rose has been carefully nurtured by His Majesty’s team of gardeners in his private gardens at Highgrove. Over this period, it\u2019s been flourishing in pots on the royal patio, and also forms part of the newly installed crown sculpture at Highgrove by willow artist Emma Stothard.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the launch, David J.C. It only feels right to unveil such a distinguished rose on a stage as respected as Chelsea.\u201d<\/p>\n

Visitors at Chelsea Flower Show 2025 can get a first-look at the new rose on the secret garden-themed David Austin Roses stand, where it will act as the focal point.<\/p>\n

All proceeds from The King\u2019s Rose will support The King\u2019s Foundation and its work building sustainable communities.
