Arthouse Glasgow has opened on Bath Street, bringing a new 76-room lifestyle hotel to a restored 19th-century listed building in the heart of the city. Developed by Oberland and designed by London<\/a>-based multidisciplinary studio A-nrd<\/a>, the hotel is the British hospitality brand\u2019s debut, combining the building\u2019s Victorian character with contemporary furniture, local craftsmanship and work by Scottish artists.<\/p>\n

A-nrd\u2019s design takes inspiration from the spontaneity of artists\u2019 homes, creating spaces that feel collected, staying away from the overly formal. Original architectural details sit alongside bespoke and vintage furniture, with each area given its own character while maintaining a consistent palette of materials, colour and craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

The arrival space sets the tone, retaining restored Victorian tiles and the building\u2019s original birdcage lift alongside a sculptural timber reception desk and bespoke lighting. The lobby leads into a deep olive-green lounge arranged beneath the original arched windows, with modular sofas, vintage seating, walnut tables, rugs and artwork creating a series of informal places to sit. Across the hotel, carefully selected furniture and Scottish art continue the residential feel.<\/p>\n

Food and drink comes courtesy of Celentano\u2019s, the acclaimed Glasgow<\/a> Italian restaurant from Dean and Anna Parker. Its bistro-style interior combines reclaimed timber flooring, soft yellow and warm white walls, exposed brickwork and glazed tiling, with a bespoke zinc-topped bar forming the focal point. A private dining room and open kitchen pass add to the restaurant\u2019s relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The hotel\u2019s 76 en-suite guestrooms occupy the second to fourth floors across six categories, ranging from Pocket rooms to a suite. Each responds to the proportions and architectural details of the existing building, with dark timber, soft textiles, restored floorboards and original cornicing used throughout.<\/p>\n

In the larger rooms, bespoke king-size platform beds face the original sash windows, with integrated shelving, workspaces, tea and coffee stations and clothing storage built into the design. Vintage seating, contemporary lighting and original artwork by Scottish artist David Iain Brown add further character, while the suite introduces restored timber panelling, a blue timber bed and a seating area around the existing fireplace.<\/p>\n

With its mix of heritage architecture, contemporary design, vintage furniture and local art, Arthouse Glasgow gives Glasgow a hotel that feels collected rather than designed.<\/p>\n
