Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>\u00a0remain in the market for new signings<\/a> as their busy summer transfer window of recruitment continues. More deals are set to be done and despite already bringing Mason Burstow<\/a> and Harry Gray on loan<\/a>, another forward is being eyed.<\/p>\n

According to Darren Witcoop<\/a>, SWFC are among League One clubs to enquire about taking Charlton striker Isaac Olaofe on loan. Several other names have also been linked as Wednesday consider their options.<\/p>\n

Leyton Orient<\/a> have also been named in the race to sign Olaofe as they look to replace Dom Ballard\u2019s goals after his move to Bristol City<\/a>. The O\u2019s are also in advanced talks to sign Jaze Kabia<\/a> from\u00a0Grimsby Town<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Scottish club is also said to be taking an interest in Olaofe. The Charlton man is due to leave on loan once again this summer, after last season\u2019s stint in League One with Stockport County<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Olaofe could be an intriguing addition as Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> continue to reshape their squad for life in League One. The 26-year-old striker earned a reputation as one of the EFL\u2019s most dangerous lower-league forwards during his time at Stockport County<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He scored 20 league goals to help Stockport win the League Two title in 2023\/24 and finished with 30 goals in 103 appearances for the club. That record underlines his ability to deliver consistently at League One and League Two level.<\/p>\n

Olaofe\u2019s biggest strengths are his pace, direct running and physicality. He can stretch defences, attack the channels, compete in aerial duels and thrive in an aggressive pressing system.<\/p>\n

His step up to the Championship proved more difficult, with opportunities and goals limited at Charlton Athletic<\/a> before a loan return to Stockport. That dip in form means he has a point to prove heading into the new campaign.<\/p>\n

A move to Hillsborough could provide the ideal opportunity to rediscover his confidence and rhythm. If Olaofe recaptures the form he showed at Stockport, Wednesday would gain a proven and athletic attacking option with plenty of upside.<\/p>\n

The Verdict: A move for Olaofe leaves Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> with questions in the striker department<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> already have plenty of attacking options, meaning the arrival of Olaofe could pave the way for an exit at Hillsborough.<\/p>\n

Burstow and Gray have both already joined on loan. The pair will have been promised consistent gametime to make the move to SWFC.<\/p>\n

Jamal Lowe is perhaps the most likely forward to move on. The 32-year-old still offers plenty in League One, but his pedigree at a higher level could attract interest from elsewhere.<\/p>\n

However, should he move on, and be replaced by Olaofe, Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> would not have much experience in attack.<\/p>\n

Charlie McNeill<\/a> has often operated in a deeper attacking midfield role under Henrik Pedersen, but he is a natural centre-forward having played there throughout his youth career and early senior years. Louie Barry is another player capable of leading the line if required.<\/p>\n
