(Karen Preuss \/ Jack London State Historic Park)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2,200+ acres of land<\/strong> makes up Jack London State Historic Park, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressdemocrat.com\/2024\/01\/04\/large-chunk-of-sonoma-developmental-center-land-to-be-transferred-to-state-parks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which grew in recent years<\/a> when 650 acres of open space land from the Sonoma Developmental Center was transferred to California State Parks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>51 tours and programs<\/strong> provided for 24 schools last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>167,551 words<\/strong> in London\u2019s book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/jacklondonpark.com\/product\/valley-of-the-moon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Valley of the Moon<\/a>,\u201d his longest. That equates to roughly $27,000 today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>37 entries<\/strong> in the 2026 Young Writers Contest put on by Jack London Park for middle school students.
