{"id":113671,"date":"2025-05-19T06:37:07","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T06:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/113671\/"},"modified":"2025-05-19T06:37:07","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T06:37:07","slug":"lewis-hamilton-to-trigger-ferrari-idea-after-reluctant-voices-reveal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/113671\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis Hamilton to trigger Ferrari \u2018idea\u2019 after \u2018reluctant\u2019 voices reveal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>An encouraging Emilia Romagna Grand Prix has enthused Lewis Hamilton to try some new ideas ahead of Monaco next weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hamilton and his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc were resurgent in Imola after a disappointing Saturday to move both scarlet machines into the points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lewis Hamilton has \u2018ideas\u2019 to improve single lap performance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leclerc was the best-placed Ferrari driver on the grid in 11th, one spot up on Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p>The pair struggled for single lap pace in Imola on Saturday with the seven-time World Champion admitting the performance left him \u201cdevastated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though satisfied with the car set-up, Hamilton admitted he simply couldn\u2019t extract more over a single lap.<\/p>\n<p>After then charging his way from 12th on the grid to fourth at the chequered flag in Sunday\u2019s race, around a venue notoriously difficult to pass on, Hamilton was left enthused to try something new \u2013 despite expecting some resistance within the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got some ideas that I\u2019m going to try and apply this week that people have been a little bit reluctant to do it, I think because we\u2019ve had lots of other things to focus on,\u201d Hamilton told the media, including PlanetF1.com.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut hopefully we can find something, some more performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new Ferrari recruit, who experienced his first race in front of the tifosi in Imola, suggested a stronger qualifying performance could have translated into a podium on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton slowly rose through the pack during a long opening stint that saw him finally take service for the first time on Lap 29, under the Virtual Safety Car for Esteban Ocon\u2019s stricken Haas.<\/p>\n<p>He pitted again on Lap 46, with the field neutralised for Kimi Antonelli\u2019s stopped Mercedes, having risen to fifth before his stop.<\/p>\n<p>He then ran seventh on the road as racing resumed, picking off former teammate George Russell and pinching fifth from Alex Albon and then fourth from Leclerc in the run to the flag.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old crossed the line just 1.4 seconds adrift of Oscar Piastri in third.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a ton of positives,\u201d Hamilton enthused with the media, including PlanetF1.com, after the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strategy was really fantastic. They made great calls, didn\u2019t put a foot wrong there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChina, I felt really aligned with the car and then the only other time was today. I felt that synergy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe set-up was great [in Imola].
