But what exactly does that look like behind the scenes?<\/p>\n<p><b>Dr Vajalla Shravani, MPT, fitness and pilates expert at Tone30 Pilates,<\/b> <b>shares the seven daily habits she follows to stay lean and fit<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Consistent wake-up and sleep times: <\/b>Dr Shravani says she maintains a steady sleep-wake cycle \u2014 even on weekends. Often, people confuse thirst for hunger \u2014 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/lifestyle\/health\/hydration-tips-ideas-importance-8362513\/\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">staying hydrated<\/a> <\/strong>keeps energy up and cravings down.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mindful eating: <\/b>Dr Shravani emphsises the importance of eating slowly and without screens. It\u2019s also mentally grounding.<\/p>\n<p><b>Protecting my morning hour: <\/b>Dr Shravani states that she avoids checking emails or social media first thing. \u201cInstead, I use that time for breathwork, a short walk, or reading. This lowers stress and prevents reactive decisions around food or productivity later.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p><b>Limiting late night snacking:<\/b> The trainer keeps a 2-hour buffer between her last meal and bedtime. \u201cIt helps digestion, improves sleep quality, and reduces the chance of overeating out of habit or boredom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Balancing discipline with flexibility in routine<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Dr Shravani mentions, \u201cI\u2019ve come to realise that discipline isn\u2019t about perfection, it\u2019s about showing up in some form, even if it\u2019s not your \u2018ideal\u2019 routine.\u201d On low-motivation days, she falls back on a simpler version of her routine: a short 20-minute workout, a few stretches, or just a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/lifestyle\/fitness\/what-is-walking-yoga-benefits-expert-9711303\/\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mindful walk outdoors<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cSomething is always better than nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She adds, \u201cI also don\u2019t tie my progress to daily motivation. Instead, I rely on structure and habits that are realistic and forgiving. For example, if I can\u2019t cook a full meal, I\u2019ll still ensure it has a good protein source and vegetables, even if it\u2019s a basic egg scramble.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the expert stresses that flexibility is built into her routine by allowing space for rest, social life, and occasional indulgences. \u201cFitness shouldn\u2019t feel like punishment.
