{"id":114011,"date":"2025-05-19T09:47:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T09:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/114011\/"},"modified":"2025-05-19T09:47:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T09:47:09","slug":"arteta-tells-gunners-board-to-do-what-they-need-to-do-in-transfer-demand-as-four-or-five-leave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/114011\/","title":{"rendered":"Arteta tells Gunners board to &#8216;do what they need to do&#8217; in transfer demand as &#8216;four or five&#8217; leave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists the Gunners board now must \u201cdo what they need to do\u201d in order for them to win the title next season.<\/p>\n<p>Arteta\u2019s side have had an ultimately disappointing season that will end without silverware again and next term is seen as crucial for the Arsenal boss\u2019 future.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Gunners are now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/premier-league\/table\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>guaranteed to be runners-up<\/strong><\/a> for a third consecutive season, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/arsenal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Arsenal<\/strong><\/a> couldn\u2019t get close to champions Liverpool in the second half of the season.<\/p>\n<p>An impressive 5-1 aggregate victory over defending champions Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals had Arsenal fans dreaming of European glory but their journey ended against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p>And now Arteta, new sporting director Andrea Berta and the Arsenal board are planning for next season with multiple players already linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Arteta has revealed that \u201cfour or five players\u201d will be leaving his squad and seemed to urge the Arsenal board to make sure it was a big summer in the transfer market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/16-conclusions-arsenal-1-0-newcastle-rice-kiwior-champions-league-football-run-in-europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">16 Conclusions on Arsenal 1-0 Newcastle: Gunners secure CL, dodge banter thanks to Rice, Kiwior and co<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Arsenal boss said after their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/opinion-arsenal-newcastle-transfer-point-both-sides\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>1-0 win over Newcastle on Sunday<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cObviously we need players because the squad is really short, and on top of that we are losing four or five players that are going to end contracts, and their loans are finished.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, we need to be sharp. I will give my life here. I will give everything.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will get every drop of everybody there is, squeeze it, to get the best. But promise (silverware)? I cannot promise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot any manager is going to promise, \u2018Next season, I\u2019m going to win the Premier League or the Champions League\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Declan Rice scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal beat Newcastle to get all three points on Sunday, reflecting on the win, Arteta said: \u201cI\u2019m really happy with the result, it was a really tough match. We knew that from the beginning they are in really good form and we had to wrap it up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a lot of pressure for both teams, for us to finish second and make sure that the Champions League was guaranteed. We have managed to do that in a really convincing way and now on to the last game and then summer plans, reset and go again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had the highs and the size of the dream was put into delivering a big trophy. That was the aim at the start of the season and unfortunately we cannot deliver that, but make sure that chasing a dream doesn\u2019t blur you, and doesn\u2019t take all the incredible things that this football club is doing, the players are doing, the team is doing, because that\u2019s the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are really trying and we put the expectations really high. We\u2019re going to do that the same, but with that enthusiasm, not just with: \u2018yeah, but, if\u2019 \u00a0\u2013 no, we cannot play like this and we should not do that.
