\n\tLetterboxd<\/a>, the social media platform for movie fans, crashed Sunday morning, logging users out of their accounts.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs of 12:12 p.m. PT on Sunday, the issue had been resolved. \u201cWe\u2019re now back online. Thank you for your patience,\u201d Letterboxd shared in an update posted on its X account.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe outage impacted the website and app for several hours Sunday morning. In a post shared at 10 a.m. PT, Letterboxd wrote, \u201cWe\u2019re still working to resolve the outage affecting our service. Thanks for bearing with us while we work to get things back up and running.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe message, along with a photo of the 1980 movie Raging Bull, was also displayed on its website earlier in the day: \u201cWe\u2019re taking a short break between rounds. Letterboxd is offline due to a server outage. We\u2019ll be back soon!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe platform, which launched in 2011 and has garnered\u00a0more than 30 million users worldwide, is a personal watch diary for cinephiles<\/a>, allowing them to rate and review films as well as connect with other movie lovers.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen users tried to access the platform early Sunday, they noticed they were logged out of their accounts. When trying to sign back in, users were met with the message, \u201cThe server returned an error. Please try again later.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMany were quick to express their frustrations over the outage on social media. \u201cLetterboxd is down just when i was about to write my review,\u201d one X user wrote<\/a>, while another person added<\/a>, \u201crip to anyone who has been logged on letterboxd for years and doesn\u2019t remember their username or password.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLetterboxd first acknowledged the site issue just before 6:30 a.m. PT, writing on X, \u201cHang in there. Our team is aware of an outage affecting service and is working to restore access as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
