Several FIA figures were in attendance last week, including rally category manager Marina Du\u00f1ach, sporting delegate Timo Rautiainen, safety delegate Nicolas Klinger and medical delegate Anna Carreras Castany\u00e9.<\/p>\n
Their aim, like with any candidate event, was to check everything is up to standard and make any recommendations ahead of the WRC visiting the country next year.<\/p>\n
The FIA\u2019s overriding impression, according to Klinger, was positive.<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, no major concerns,\u201d Klinger said, \u201cjust fine-tuning things and we have that everywhere.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you write something, someone else is [proof] reading it. When I do something, I like that someone else is having a look at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The service park, which will be based at Aberdeen P&J\u2019s Live arena (but wasn\u2019t for the Grampian Forest Rally), was a particular highlight.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an incredible venue,\u201d Klinger explained. \u201cYou have so many possibilities, so
many solutions.
