Cancer is certainly breeding ground for a life reset, and there\u2019s no doubt that the future queen realized what matters most during her illness\u2014her family that she shares with husband <a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/prince-william-representing-king-charles-d-day-commemoration-event-8655083\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Prince William;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">Prince William<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caas-img caas-lazy has-preview\" alt=\"Getty Kate Middleton on March 22, 2022\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/77923a27c798442f2fb3b235c7c95746.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Getty<\/p>\n<p> Kate Middleton on March 22, 2022<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome people who have a life-changing experience, it makes them realize they don\u2019t have all the time in the world,\u201d royal biographer Robert Jobson told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/34895599\/cancer-diagnosis-kate-princess-of-wales\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Sun;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">The Sun<\/a>. \u201cCatherine has always put a huge amount of pressure on herself, but she is now more forgiving, not forcing herself to be the best all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In order to get put on her schedule, \u201cA public engagement, a tour, or a project has to be okay for her\u2014to suit her\u2014rather than she has to do something for appearance\u2019s sake or just because she\u2019s royal,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s more important for her to prioritize herself, whether that may be going to the gym or playing tennis. Catherine was very ill, and William genuinely had to confront the possibility that he could lose his wife and his father\u201d <a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/king-charles-rare-advice-fellow-cancer-patients-11700990\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:King Charles;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">King Charles<\/a>, who was also diagnosed with cancer in early 2024.
