\u201cBarcelona have already made new verbal proposal to Manchester City for Rodri worth \u20ac60 million with add-ons,\u201d the Italian tweeted on Wednesday morning.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cMan City insist on \u20ac80 million valuation to sell Rodri, Bar\u00e7a remain confident to close [the deal].<\/p>\n

Half way between \u20ac60 million bid and \u20ac80 million can be the solution, with add-ons key,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

At SPORT, they explain that the Blaugrana \u201cdo not want to reach \u20ac70 million\u201d for the Rodri transfer, but the two clubs are \u201cstarting to get very close\u201d in terms of striking a deal.<\/p>\n

The Catalan newspaper further reveals that Bar\u00e7a is willing to pay something between \u20ac60 million and \u20ac65 million since that was what the Premier League giant asked Real Madrid for ahead of negotiations breaking down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since that development, Bar\u00e7a has been the lead favorite to land the Spanish World Cup winner, whose contract expires on June 30, 2027.<\/p>\n

Rodri is starting to be expensive – but still worth it for FC Barcelona<\/p>\n

After Rodri agreed to join them<\/a>, Bar\u00e7a had a cheeky, initial \u20ac46 million bid for the 30-year-old knocked back which was never going to entice City.<\/p>\n

Since the Pep Guardiola days, however, the Etihad club has had an honorable policy of not standing in the way of players that wish to leave.<\/p>\n

Its asking price has to be met however, and Rodri is starting to get expensive for a Blaugrana outfit also chasing Julian Alvarez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That being said, Rodri is still worth making the effort for. Where he under contract for longer, the Best Player at the World Cup would be priced double or more, and this is one of those once in a generation deals that Deco and Co. can\u2019t afford to pass up.<\/p>\n
