The library system invites interested participants to come into any of their 12 libraries to register for Summer Reading. Folks can register online at <a href=\"http:\/\/pwcva.gov\/library\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pwcva.gov\/library<\/a> or through the Beanstack Tracker app on a smartphone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Participants can utilize the uniquely designed game cards for babies and toddlers, preschool to grade five and grades six through twelve. Game cards include entertaining activities to complete that inspire participants to learn more about library services and programs, as well as read books to meet goals and win prizes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s Summer Reading theme is all about being together, and what better place to do that than at the library?\u201d said Deborah Wright, Director of PWPL. \u201cWe have programs and books for all ages focused on kindness, friendship, and unity. Our Digital Library offers free access to documentaries, music, and more, many of which have created collections around the \u2018All Together Now\u2019 theme. The public is encouraged to join the Summer Reading program to win prizes and enjoy summer together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adults can participate in this fun with a challenge for them to read and complete activities all summer, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>For those wondering how all this fun can last all summer, Prince William Public Libraries will be offering more than 250 in-person and virtual programs. PWPL is bringing back favorites like Sing Books with Emily and Dinoman Dinosaur Show for kids, Laser Tag for teens and Master Gardeners for adults.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>There are readers who like to read surrounded by nature. PWPL said residents are also welcome to enjoy Prince William Public Libraries\u2019 outdoor spaces, including Central Green.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwcva.gov\/department\/library\/explore-magazine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Upcoming events for the summer reading program include<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cMy Pet Alpaca\u201d will be on-site on Thursday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. for a petting zoo.<\/li>\n<li>Haymarket Gainesville Library is bringing back its story trail with a twist!<\/li>\n<li>Families can come in costume to \u201cHalloween in July\u201d to read \u201cCreepy Carrots!\u201d by Aaron Reynolds while enjoying the beautiful outdoor space surrounding the library.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>To learn more and plan your personalized program schedule, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/pwcva.gov\/library\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pwcva.gov\/library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Katrina Wilson is a contributing writer for Prince William Living.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Like this article?
