{"id":1145255,"date":"2026-08-13T00:13:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T00:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1145255\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T00:13:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T00:13:21","slug":"xbox-adds-six-new-features-in-august-12th-update-now-available-to-download","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1145255\/","title":{"rendered":"Xbox Adds Six New Features In August 12th Update, Now Available To Download"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Xbox Adds Six New Features In August 12th Update, Now Available To Download\" href=\"https:\/\/images.purexbox.com\/18ab50e681a9b\/xbox-adds-six-new-features-in-august-12th-update-now-available-to-download.large.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/xbox-adds-six-new-features-in-august-12th-update-now-available-to-download.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" alt=\"Xbox Adds Six New Features In August 12th Update, Now Available To Download\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The latest public update for Xbox consoles has officially begun rolling out this evening (August 12th), with the update now available to download manually via the Settings menu &#8211; it&#8217;ll also be installed automatically in the very near future.<\/p>\n<p>As per the update notes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.xbox.com\/en-US\/help\/hardware-network\/settings-updates\/whats-new-xbox-one-system-updates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Xbox website<\/a>, there are six new features that are going public as part of the August update, although most of them have been in testing with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purexbox.com\/news\/2026\/06\/four-new-console-features-begin-rolling-out-today-for-xbox-insiders-june-24\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Xbox Insiders<\/a> for at least a few weeks now.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of highlights, there are a few Xbox 360-specific improvements for Game Hubs, and we also find it surprising that Windows Phone games will now start appearing as part of your achievement history! There&#8217;s also a very important new feature that will allow you to access older cloud saves in the case of a corruption issue, although it&#8217;s only being rolled out with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purexbox.com\/games\/xbox-series-x\/forza_horizon_6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forza Horizon 6<\/a> at first.<\/p>\n<p>A few bug fixes are also part of this update, which are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fixed a crash that could occur when scrolling through pages in My games &amp; apps.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed an issue where Chinese characters could appear in the on-screen keyboard in the Canadian French locale.<\/li>\n<li>Various stability and performance fixes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to download the update immediately, you can do so by going to &#8220;Settings&#8221;, &#8220;System&#8221; and then &#8220;Updates&#8221;, and you should find it waiting for you in there. If a game requires an update and is available to stream through your Game Pass membership, you can start playing immediately with cloud gaming and queue your game to update when you&#8217;re done playing. You&#8217;ll also see the option to launch with cloud gaming directly from the game card when a game is installing or updating.
