Xbox has announced today that we’re getting two limited edition Xbox Wireless Controllers based on the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day<\/a>, with both being designs for the standard controller and one being exclusive to Xbox Design Lab<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pre-orders will start today for the main Gears of War: E-Day Controller, which is described as the following:<\/p>\n

Drawing from the E-holes that scar the world of Gears of War: E-Day, the controller features 3D molded, laser-etched details of cracked asphalt with red, glowing cracks created by the power of an erupting E-hole, exposing the iconic Crimson Omen beneath the surface. Blacked-out ABXY buttons are punctuated by a transparent red X button, while matching red triggers and a transparent D-pad reflect the destruction left in the wake of Emergence Day. A dark silver metallic COG tag on the battery door signifies Never Fight Alone. Squad up. Textured grips round out a design built for fans ready to carry a piece of Sera into every battle.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The second controller is known as the “Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition with XBOX Design Lab”, and it’ll be available from September 30th through the Design Lab service.<\/p>\n

Beginning September 30, fans can create their own Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition XBOX Wireless Controller with XBOX Design Lab, featuring exclusive artwork from renowned heavy metal illustrator Luke Preece. The centerpiece of the design is a custom top case featuring a skull perched atop crossed Lancers, surrounded by more skulls and battle-worn details inspired by the brutal conflict between the COG and the Locust Horde. Fans can make it their own with upgrades such as metallic triggers and D-pads, rubberized side and back grips, and a personalized engraving, creating a controller that reflects their connection to the world, characters, and legacy of Gears of War.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The price of today’s main Gears of War: E-Day Wireless Controller is \u00a384.99 \/ $89.99, and it’s said that it’ll be available imminently from the Microsoft Store and other local retailers.<\/p>\n

A separate 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock with a Gears design is also going on sale, serving as “a complementary accessory to the Gears of War: E-Day XBOX Wireless Controller”. You can already find it on the 8BitDo website for $39.99 USD with a shipping date of October 9th.<\/p>\n
