Technical issues with a small number of the new food waste collection vehicles have also contributed to delays.

Most delays have been short, typically one or two days, and only a limited number of rounds have been affected. If a food waste caddy is not emptied on the same day as green or grey bin collections, it should be left out and crews will return to empty it as soon as possible.

Residents can also help collection crews complete their rounds more efficiently by placing food waste caddies beside their other bins on collection day, rather than on top of or directly in front of them.

The council apologises to anyone who has experienced delays and thanks residents for their patience as the new service becomes established. The food waste collection service is already helping households recycle more and reduce the amount of waste sent for disposal.

As the new food waste collection service continues to roll out across Wirral, a small number of residents…

[8815
66057,748,393,4884,179,16,15
post-1146114","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-liverpool","tag-bins","tag-britain","tag-england","tag-great-britain","tag-liverpool","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom
["GET
