Adding weight also gives you a way to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"progressively overload\" data-node-id=\"25.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">progressively overload<\/a> the glutes as you get stronger.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>How to do it<img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1786624342_832_poster.jpg\" alt=\"Image no longer available\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Instagram @simonedelarue.official<\/p>\n<ol data-node-id=\"28\" class=\"css-12c7ta7 emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"28.0\">Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.1\">Hold a dumbbell across the hip of one leg, keeping it secure with your hand. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.2\">Slowly peel your glutes, lower back and midback off the ground to come into a glute bridge with both legs on the ground. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.3\">Once in a full glute bridge, lift the foot of the leg without the dumbbell on its hip towards the ceiling, extending the leg straight.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.4\">Brace your core and drive through the heel of the planted foot to lift your hips further towards the ceiling. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.5\">Squeeze your glute at the top, keeping your hips level and avoiding arching your lower back, then slowly lower the extended leg in line with the opposite hip (keeping a straight leg) before extending back towards the ceiling,<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.6\">Pause briefly, then lower your hips back towards the floor with control. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"28.7\">Continue for all reps, performing one leg lower within each rep before lowering.
