The Loch Ness Centre and the Clansman Harbour, alongside a range of retail facilities have been owned by The Bremner family since 1964.<\/p>\n
The family said the \u201ctime was right\u201d to put the assets on the market \u2014 with significant interest being made within the first 24 hours of it being advertised.<\/p>\n
The selling agent, Grant Stewart Chartered Surveyors, said that the landmark site is gaining international attention from investors.<\/p>\n
Since its inception in 1980 the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre has long been an iconic visitor attraction in the Highlands and is operated today by Continuum Group.<\/p>\n
The retail operation is operated by well known local company the Cobbs group, whilst Jacobite Cruises utilises the Clansman Harbour for its scenic trips across Loch Ness.<\/p>\n
Grant Stewart, owner of agent said: \u201cThe Loch Ness Centre was revamped recently, with a \u00a32m investment.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really cool, fully interactive and David Tennant does the narration throughout the centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been brought into the 21st century and attracts over 250,000 visitors annually.\u201d<\/p>\n
The assets also include five-acres of land opposite Urquhart Castle, which Mr Stewart said has the potential for \u201csubstantial commercial development.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a lot of extra land that can be further developed,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is scope for more services \u2014 subject to planning and being sympathetic to nature around \u2014 which would complement and benefit the area.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Bremner family added: \u201cFollowing some initial approaches we have made the decision that now is the right time for us to hand over the reigns of the business and pursue other interests.\u201d<\/p>\n
