Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> have been linked with a move<\/a> for the defender this summer as they hunt for more reinforcements. SWFC are preparing for life in League One<\/a> and they will be eyeing an immediate promotion back to the Championship under the guidance of head coach Henrik Pedersen. <\/p>\n

Scanlon, 21, is under contract<\/a> at Liverpool until June 2027 and has been on the books of the Premier League giants since joining them back in 2020. He spent the second-half of last season on loan at Cardiff City<\/a> and played eight games for the Bluebirds to help them claw themselves out of the third tier. <\/p>\n

In this latest update regarding his situation this summer, WalesOnline<\/a> claim he is now set to return to the Cardiff City<\/a> Stadium for a second spell amid links to the Owls. He will be aiming to get as much game time as possible in South Wales in the upcoming campaign. <\/p>\n

Barry-Murphy\u2019s side won 3-2 at home against Swindon Town<\/a> in the Carabao Cup last time out to progress to round two. They take on rivals Wrexham<\/a> in the league on Monday. <\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> will need to look elsewhere<\/a> for an addition in Scanlon\u2019s position. SWFC could have seen him as someone to bolster their defensive department. <\/p>\n

The England youth international is someone who likes to get up and down the flank of defence and get involved in attacks. Prior to his switch to Liverpool, he rose up through the academy at Birmingham<\/a> City. <\/p>\n

Max Lowe<\/a> is currently the Owls\u2019 senior option at left-back. He is experienced but Pedersen could do with some more competition in that particular area, especially for if Lowe got injured. <\/p>\n

Scanlon has played twice for Liverpool\u2019s first-team so far in his career. He has also been loaned out to Millwall<\/a> in the past and made four outings during his time at The Den for the Lions, chipping in with one goal from the back. <\/p>\n
