According to a <a class=\"transition-colors duration-default shadow-externalLink hover:text-red-1\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_Carabinieri_\/status\/2088220642361385026?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">previous social media statement<\/a> by the Carabinieri\u2014Italy\u2019s military police force\u2014they carry a total estimated value of \u20ac9m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">The Carabinieri have said that four men entered the foundation, housed in a rural villa south of Parma,\u00a0on 22 March and removed Les Poissons\u00a0(1917) by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Still Life with Cherries\u00a0(around 1890) by Paul Cezanne and Odalisque on the Terrace\u00a0(1922) by Henri Matisse. The thieves took less than three minutes to carry out the theft, partly because the alarm system was activated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\"><a class=\"transition-colors duration-default shadow-externalLink hover:text-red-1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2026\/aug\/14\/italian-police-recover-stolen-paintings-cezanne-renoir-matisse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to<\/a> The Guardian, a statement from the Italian Carabinieri\u2019s art recovery squad based in Parma said the paintings were found during searches ordered by prosecutors but gave no further details. The investigation is continuing; the Magnani-Rocca Foundation and Carabinieri were contacted for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">The\u00a0Magnani-Rocca Foundation\u00a0is one of the\u00a0most significant private art collections in Italy, housing works by artists such as Albrecht D\u00fcrer, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck and Francisco Goya.
