{"id":1149748,"date":"2026-08-15T09:26:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T09:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1149748\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T09:26:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T09:26:18","slug":"new-street-cleaning-team-hits-rock-ferry-birkenhead-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1149748\/","title":{"rendered":"New street cleaning team hits Rock Ferry \u2013 Birkenhead News"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rock Ferry residents will notice some more high-profile street cleaning going on in their area in the coming weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s because Wirral Council and their waste contractor, Biffa, are investing in staff and equipment to put more manual cleansing of pavements in place in the area, following on from similar deployment of operatives \u2013 pushing their distinctive barrow along the streets \u2013 to Woodchurch, Beechwood, and parts of north Birkenhead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wirral Council leader, Cllr Paula Basnett said,<\/strong> \u201cThe investment we have made in increasing the number of manual street cleaning operatives will help us give attention to areas most affected, but will also provide a visual demonstration as they walk the streets picking up rubbish that it is an issue that as a council we take very seriously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey are doing an important job on behalf of all of us so if you see them out and about make sure you say hello and show your support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLitter is an issue which all councillors receive a lot of feedback on from residents.
