{"id":11504,"date":"2025-04-11T18:18:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T18:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/11504\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T18:18:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T18:18:08","slug":"uk-bans-personal-eu-meat-and-dairy-imports-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/11504\/","title":{"rendered":"UK bans personal EU meat and dairy imports \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new restrictions will not apply to goods arriving from Northern Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While FMD doesn\u2019t pose a risk to humans and there are no current cases in the United Kingdom, it\u2019s a highly infectious disease that puts Britain\u2019s farming industry at significant risk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>U.K. Farming Minister David Zeichner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/government-extends-ban-on-personal-meat-imports-to-protect-farmers-from-foot-and-mouth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>: \u201cThis government will do whatever it takes to protect British farmers from foot and mouth.
