Sheffield Wednesday chairman David Storch has outlined his plans to improve Hillsborough and even hinted at a future visit from Michael Jordan.<\/p>\n

The American businessman joined talkSPORT\u2019s Weekend Sports Breakfast<\/a> on Saturday in a candid interview where he addressed his immediate plans for the club.<\/p>\n

Storch, who revealed the club is lining up an audacious move to sign Jamie Vardy<\/a>, spoke about his ongoing plans to update Hillsborough and improve the matchday experience for fans.<\/p>\n

Arise Capital Partners completed their takeover of the club just 104 days ago and the mood around the club has changed significantly for the better.<\/p>\n

Much of it has come from the improvements Storch has made off the pitch, a topic he delved into live on talkSPORT.<\/p>\n

\u201cHillsborough needs a lot of work. Right now, there are 100 work orders that are being executed against,\u201d Storch said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have major projects like creating enough water flow into the stadium, hot water into the stadium. We have a WiFi programme going on, we had to change to some new elevators.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe food and beverage is going to be very different so Molson Coors will be increasing the pour rate by a factor of eight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe quality of the food will be improved. We have Delaware who will be providing the food.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to try and make it easier to get in and out of the stadium. We\u2019re going to try and make it easier to buy merchandise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe store will be up and running by Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arise have shown their intent early on by investing \u00a38million into improving Hillsborough and the club\u2019s training facilities.<\/p>\n

The improvements have been clear to see with enhancements in the tunnel area at Hillsborough as well as other parts of the stadium.<\/p>\n

And soon it could even host sporting royalty if Storch can convince one of his close friends to stop by for a match.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a few basketball players that I still have close relationships with, one of which is considered by me and others to be the greatest basketball player of all time,\u201d Storch said.<\/p>\n

The term \u2018greatest\u2019 without letting his name slip proved too much of a giveaway meaning the Owls chairman could only be referring to Michael Jordan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Asked if the six-time NBA<\/a> champion could soon grace Hillsborough with his presence, Storch said: \u201clet\u2019s see, let\u2019s see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> kick off their League One<\/a> campaign away at Leyton Orient on Saturday with a renewed sense of optimism.<\/p>\n

Thirteen new players have arrived at the club this summer in what will be a new-look side as they aim to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking.<\/p>\n

The Owls appear to have direction under Storch\u2019s leadership,\u00a0something that was hugely lacking under former owner Dejphon Chansiri.<\/p>\n

And Wednesday’s striker admits the interventions in place – particularly off the pitch – have been felt by the players.<\/p>\n

“It’s massive,” Lowe told The Star. “It’s massive because, even like you say, the stadium’s had a little refurb. The training ground’s a lot better than it was.<\/p>\n

“The food that we get after games and training is a lot better than it was last year. Little stuff like that does help massively.<\/p>\n

“You say our nutrition is key, but if you’re not getting food, sometimes there is no food, or whatever the situation is, we’ve rectified all those small little problems that maybe you don’t see every day.<\/p>\n

“It just makes our life a little bit easier, makes our recovery better. The gym is better, the facilities are a bit better.<\/p>\n

“Overall, the club is in a better place than it was last year, but obviously it wasn’t in a great place last year. It has been good.<\/p>\n
