With Eli Roth<\/strong> directing the upcoming horror films Ice Cream Man<\/a> and Final Cut<\/a> for his own company The Horror Section, you might be wondering if his studio slasher franchise Thanksgiving has fallen by the wayside. Last we heard, Roth would be returning to direct Thanksgiving 2 <\/strong>for Sony and Spyglass, but what\u2019s the latest on the holiday slasher sequel?<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving star Nell Verlaque<\/strong>, who will return for the sequel, says in a new chat with Variety<\/a> that she expects filming to take place on Thanksgiving 2 later this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a script. I know that the goal is to film it this year,\u201d Verlaque tells the outlet.<\/p>\n

The actress notes, \u201c[Eli Roth\u2019s] a great director. I told him I really wanted to be tortured\u2026 like fully pain, tortured [in the sequel]. I would like to get covered in blood. I\u2019ve read certain parts of [the script] and\u2026 he\u2019s told me a few of the ideas. And I support them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe crazier the better for me,\u201d Verlaque adds.<\/p>\n

So what can we expect from\u00a0Thanksgiving 2? It\u2019s reportedly going to be a continuation of the first movie, with both\u00a0Nell Verlaque<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Rick Hoffman<\/strong>\u00a0expected to reprise their roles. Verlaque played final girl Jessica, while Hoffman played her character\u2019s father, Thomas Wright.<\/p>\n

Eli Roth and\u00a0Jeff Rendell<\/strong> are back to write the screenplay for Thanksgiving 2.<\/p>\n
