Leeds United<\/a> are set to sanction Lucas Perri\u2019s exit, as he heads to Torino on loan with a \u00a312million option to buy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United\u2019s summer business ought to ramp up in the final weeks of the transfer window. After three very strong additions, there is concern over depth in various areas.<\/p>\n

One of those positions is a goalkeeper. James Trafford looks every bit a \u00a340million<\/a> \u2018keeper on initial evidence, but there\u2019s no cover.<\/p>\n

Lucas Perri heads to Torino as Leeds United agree loan with \u00a312million buy option<\/p>\n

Trafford\u2019s arrival meant it was always likely that Lucas Perri<\/a> would then leave the club.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian has been courted largely by Serie A club Torino, with Marseille also flirting with the idea. Now, the Italians have won the race with Perri expected in Turin imminently.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s reported by Fabrizio Romano<\/a> that Leeds are agreeing to a loan for Perri that includes an option to buy for \u20ac14million (\u00a312million).<\/p>\n

With that, it\u2019s frustrating that Leeds aren\u2019t able to shift him permanently in a window where even under-performing players are getting eye-watering moves away.<\/p>\n

Leeds United now set to target No2 goalkeeper after Lucas Perri exit<\/p>\n

Perri leaving means Leeds only have two senior goalkeepers on the books going into the season: Trafford and Alex Cairns.<\/p>\n

The latter is of course the staple \u2018third choice\u2019 option to have in the dressing room. So, it\u2019s no shock that Sky Sports\u2019 Zinny Boswell<\/a> reports of Leeds entering the market for reliable backup to Trafford.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Italian club have been waiting for Perri\u2019s minor injury to resolve before proceeding with the deal,\u201d Boswell writes.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeeds are planning to bring in another \u2018keeper to play back-up to\u00a0James Trafford\u00a0next season.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Leeds have a fine balancing act now. <\/p>\n

The dilemma, albeit a good one with Trafford in goal, is that any backup we sign knows full well they aren\u2019t getting many minutes at all next season.<\/p>\n

We have such a nailed-on No1 \u2018keeper that our backup has to be happy being just that. It therefore narrows down your options becuase we have to sign someone who is good enough, should we need to call on them.<\/p>\n

An experienced Premier League deputy, perhaps? Jason Steele and Sam Johnstone strike me as the obvious archetype.<\/p>\n
