\u201cI remember being woken up really early before my surgery \u2013 I pulled my blanket over my head. I said: \u2018I don\u2019t want to see anyone and I don\u2019t want them to see me,\u2019\u201d Eugenie recalled tragically.<\/p>\n
However, the 35-year-old celebrated her mother\u2019s efforts to help her through the difficult process. <\/p>\n
\u201cShe was amazing,\u201d Eugenie glowed as she revealed Fergie\u2019s touching way of showing her daughter there was nothing to be afraid of. <\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019d ask me if she could show it to people, then she\u2019d turn me around and say, \u2018my daughter is superhuman, you\u2019ve got to check out her scar,\u2019\u201d the Princess shared. <\/p>\n

Eugenie has been a supporter of causes related to children with spinal conditions, with her recent comments coming as she attended an event at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre at Salisbury District Hospital. <\/p>\n
While there, the royal revealed she takes a role in helping families dealing with children awaiting spinal surgery, as she once did. <\/p>\n
The 35-year-old explained she often receives messages from nervous parents whose children were awaiting the sometimes harrowing procedure and long recuperation afterwards. <\/p>\n
To help, Eugenie said she speaks to the children over the phone to help their confidence ahead of their operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cA little voice comes on the phone and they don\u2019t know what questions to ask. I tell them not to feel ashamed \u2013 not just of the scar but of the whole experience; bed pans, the lot,\u201d she detailed. <\/p>\n
Referring to the \u201cliteral angels\u201d nurses, Eugenie advised the children never to \u201cfeel nervous about letting them look after you\u201d.<\/p>\n
