The vehicle was not part of the race and an investigation is underway to determine how it was on the route. The rest of the 166.8km stage from Melga\u00e7o to Fafe was neutralised and his NSN team withdrew from the race afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 10 was won by UAE Team Emirates-XRG\u2019s Rui Oliveira who dedicated his first professional road victory to Tarling\u2019s family, and Netcompany Ineos rider AJ August also dedicated his Czech Tour win to Tarling, whose brother is August\u2019s teammate Josh Tarling.<\/p>\n<p>The Cyclistes Professionnels Associes (CPA) riders\u2019 union said, \u2018We are speechless and filled with anger. It is not right that a young athlete\u2019s life should end this way, and we are furious that even today it is still not possible to prevent such serious accidents. We share in the grief of his family, friends, team, and everyone who knew Finlay. Rest in peace, young rider; we pray for you, and we will carry you in our hearts.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/for-fin-s2u87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow noopener\">GoFundme authorised by Tarling\u2019s parents<\/a> Michael and Dawn has been created by Protege Sports Management founder Jamie Barlow to serve as \u2018part of a legacy project providing an opportunity to help future generations of young Welsh riders discover the freedom and confidence that a bike can give a child\u2019. Barlow described Tarling as an \u2018exceptionally talented cyclist with a bright future ahead of him, as well as a beloved son, brother, grandson, loyal friend and teammate, and an outstanding young man in every respect.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, it has raised over \u00a340,000; you can donate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/for-fin-s2u87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jonas Vingegaard will not race again in 2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"970\" height=\"647\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Jonas-Vingegaard-wins-Giro-970x647.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-256503\"  \/>Dario Belingheri\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Visma-Lease a Bike\u2019s Jonas Vingegaard has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his collarbone during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/tags\/tour-de-france\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tour de France<\/a>. The Dane, who abandoned the Tour on Stage 15 while second overall to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/tags\/tadej-pogacar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tadej Poga\u010dar<\/a>, will miss the World Championships in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>In an announcement from the team, he said, \u2018The start of my training has been delayed and it is not possible for me to get back to top level in the coming period. The focus is on preparing optimally for the goals of the 2027 season. I will discuss these specific goals with the team in the coming period.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>It was still a successful year though as Vingegaard joined the \u2018Grand Tour triple\u2019 club of winning all three Grand Tours following victory at the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/tags\/giro-ditalia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Giro d\u2019Italia<\/a>. He also won Paris-Nice and the Volta a Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Seixas to remain at Decathlon CMA CGM<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"970\" height=\"729\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260613TARA0108-A.S.O.-Gaetan-Flamme-970x729.webp\" alt=\"13\/06\/2026 \u2013 Tour Auvergne Rh\u00f4ne Alpes - Etape 7 \u2013 La Bridoire \/ Grand Colombier (133,6 km) - Paul Seixas (Decathlon-CMA CGM)\" class=\"wp-image-261603\"  \/>A.S.O.\/Ga\u00ebtan Flamme<\/p>\n<p>Paul Seixas has been a big topic of transfer rumours this summer despite still having another year left on his contract and he\u2019s confirmed he\u2019s staying with Decathlon CMA CGM at least through to the end of his contract in 2027. The talented 19-year-old Frenchman has attracted much attention from the likes of UAE Team Emirates XRG or Visma-Lease a Bike, leaving many to speculate whether he&#8217;d be bought out of his deal with Decathlon.<\/p>\n<p>On the <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/episode\/0jrwwnxYbipzaRSrUf5Wf9?trackId=6dTyTx0WYpt65QDSXZi7vn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow nofollow\">In de Waaier<\/a>\u00a0podcast with Thijs Zonneveld, he said, \u2018I\u2019m seizing my chance here to compete with the best.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Seixas won La Fl\u00e8che Wallonne earlier in the season, finished second to Poga\u010dar at Strade Bianche and Li\u00e8ge-Bastogne-Li\u00e8ge and made an impressive debut at the Tour, finishing fourth overall. <\/p>\n<p>Paul Magnier wins ADAC Cyclassics<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/CyclassicsHamburg2026-MarcelHilger-98-scaled.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-269863\"  \/>A.S.O. Germany\/Marcel Hilger<\/p>\n<p>Frenchman Paul Magnier prevailed at the ADAC Cyclassics one-day race in Hamburg, beating Mike Teunissen and Laurence Pithie in the sprint finish. It\u2019s the Soudal Quick-Step man&#8217;s seventh win of the season in a year that has also included three stage wins and the points classification at the Giro.<\/p>\n<p>Unibet Rose Rockets\u2019 Lukas Kubis was relegated from 16th to 41st, given a CHF500 fine and yellow card for \u2018deviation from the chosen line that obstructs or endangers another rider or irregular sprint&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Silva is first Uruguayan to win Arctic Race of Norway<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1708\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260816ARN1192_ARN-Thomas-Maheux-scaled.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-269864\"  \/>ARN\/Thomas Maheux<\/p>\n<p>XDS Astana&#8217;s Thomas Silva has been putting Uruguayan cycling on the map this year, becoming the first rider from the South American nation to start the Giro and to win a stage. The 24-year-old has now become the first of his countrymen to win the Arctic Race of Norway with victory ahead of Lotto-Intermarch\u00e9&#8217;s Lennert van Eetvelt and NSN&#8217;s Alessandro Pinarello.<\/p>\n<p>He worked his way into the lead of the four-day race with a win on Stage 3 atop the steep 3.4km Storheia Summit, which hits 16.5% at its peak.
