This time I’m going esoteric. I’ve delved into the vaults of the Necrons to conjure up a list of stirring tomb constructs, legions of warriors and shards of shackled star gods! It’s going to be Take and Hold for the Necrons vs Purge the Foe, because Orks never change!

WarCom: Ghazghkull and Nazdreg are a fearsome one-two punch – how are you planning on dealing with such heavy hitters?

Josh: Facing both of these epic heroes is going to be a challenge – have you seen Ghazghkull’s new datasheet? Nazdreg is no slouch either, being the perfect leader to bring a squad of Meganobz to the fray. My plan is to try to control the tempo of the game. Orks are devastating on the attack but vulnerable on the counterattack, so I’m hoping that I can control the rate of engagement so that I’m tackling these titans on my terms, not being swallowed up in a giant Waaagh!.

WarCom: You’ve got your own heavy hitters in the form of two C’tan Shards – do you have a favourite, and what are your plans for these star god fragments?

Josh: I do have a favourite, I’m an old school hobbyist! I’ve been into Warhammer since, well… the last time that we had Orks and Space Marines in the Assault on Black Reach back in two thousand and REDACTED. The Nightbringer was the archetypal boogeyman back in those days, fleshed out with novels like… well, Nightbringer. So it’s always had this esoteric and eldritch vibe that entices me. Compels me, even. The Nightbringer has the opportunity to dish out a ton of Devastating Wounds with its scythe and a bunch of Mortal Damage with its abilities, so getting stuck in to the middle of an army that loves getting stuck in like the Orks should have this C’tan Shard well in its element.

WarCom: While everyone is looking at the big, killy units, those Gretchin might go unnoticed, and they have objective secured now! What are you going to do about the Grots?

Josh: The Gretchin are of no concern to the Overlords of the Dynasty! Mere wretches to stand on objectives and secure them with their bits of scrap, filth and half-chewed ammo casings. I will simply ignore them! They are beneath the Necrons! I’m sure they won’t pose a threat at all… unless they stand in the way, or block me from a key objective, deny me a secondary…. or turn the tide of battle? Guess we’ll have to find out won’t we?

Will the Gretchin manage to trip up a C’tan Shard?
