And since then, we have been living through very special, cosy and love-filled moments,\u201d the couple wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They explained that their daughter\u2019s name pays tribute to three people they \u201clove and admire, past and present\u201d, including her great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHer name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The choice of Adelaide has historical connections with both countries. Queen Adelaide, wife of Britain\u2019s King William IV, was queen consort from 1830 to 1837, while the name also has links to Portuguese royal history.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DcJUCfgglk5\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The newborn joins the couple\u2019s two sons, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, born in February 2021, and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, born in May 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAugie and Ernie are already the best big brothers,\u201d the couple said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adelaide was born at 6.30pm on August 3, weighing three kilograms. Portuguese public broadcaster RTP reported that the birth took place at Hospital da Luz in Lisbon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time, the British Royal Family said King Charles III, Queen Camilla and other members of the family were \u201cdelighted with the news\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eugenie and Brooksbank have increasingly made Portugal part of their family life.
