One person has been taken to hospital after police and a Wales Air Ambulance helicopter were called to a section of the M4 on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Police have said they were responding to a “concern for welfare” and attended the scene near near junction 35. A section of the motorway between junctions 35 and 37 was closed in both directions, with motorists asked to use alternative routes.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for South Wales Police<\/a> said on Tuesday afternoon: “We’re at the scene of an incident on the M4<\/a> at Junction 36, Sarn.<\/p>\n “The road is currently closed in both directions between Junction 35 for Pencoed, and Junction 36 for Sarn. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Thank you for your patience.”<\/p>\n An updated statement from the force said officers attended an area of the M4 between junctions 36 to 37 due to a concern for welfare. It added: “The road was closed whilst the air ambulance landed.
