Should I fire him,&#8221; was sent from the club&#8217;s official profile.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A series of tweets then followed about Bannan before at 2.47pm the account posted: &#8220;I&#8217;m following everyone who trash talk Barry Bannan. I just figured out that he is from another, other club.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The tweets would then get stranger when the Blades&#8217; official account then posted: &#8220;Let&#8217;s forget Barry Bannan. New topic: MUFC &gt; City.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This ended up being the final post before the South Yorkshire club regained access of their X account and the posts were subsequently deleted. In a statement on their website, Sheffield United confirmed that they had been hacked.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_Screenshot-2025-05-19-150432.jpg\" alt=\"Sheffield United's X account was compromised on Monday afternoon\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Sheffield United&#8217;s X account was compromised on Monday afternoon<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Due to an online attack, Sheffield United&#8217;s X social media account has been temporarily compromised,&#8221; they explained in a brief statement. &#8220;Any posts, interactions or private messages made from the account are not authorised by the club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;United will keep supporters updated about the status of the account, and when access is reclaimed.&#8221; This strange incident comes in the week that the Blades are preparing to face Sunderland for a place in the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/premier-league\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> next season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Chris Wilder&#8217;s side were involved in a three-horse race for automatic promotion but missed out on the prize with Leeds United and Burnley pulling away. Turning their attention to the play-offs, a professional performance against Bristol City saw them progress to the Wembley final 6-0 on aggregate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">On Saturday, they will take on Sunderland who finished fourth in the regular season but impressed to beat Coventry City 3-2 on aggregate with Daniel Ballard scoring the winner in the last minute of extra time.
