South African cyclist S\u2019annara Grove, who rides for the Conti team, Smurfit Westrock Cycling Team has been provisionally suspended after an out-of-competition sample collected during the 2026 Commonwealth Games returned an adverse analytical finding for ipamorelin.<\/p>\n

The sample was collected by Commonwealth Sport on July 28 in Glasgow, where the Commonwealth Games were held from July 23 to Aug. 2.<\/p>\n
The International Testing Agency (ITA<\/a>), which oversees the UCI\u2019s independent anti-doping program, announced the finding Friday.<\/p>\n Ipamorelin is prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List and falls under S2, which covers peptide hormones, growth factors and related substances and mimetics. It is prohibited both in and out of competition.<\/p>\n The substance is a synthetic peptide that can stimulate the body\u2019s production of growth hormone. The Tour of Britain Women<\/p>\n At the Tour of Britain Women, Grove was 72nd on Stage 1 and 61st on Stage 2.<\/p>\n Kim Le Court-Pienaar (AG Insurance \u2013 Soudal Team) won Stage 3, a 104.7 km race from Mold to The Great Orme. With the win, she takes the race lead. On Thursday, Maple Ridge B.C.\u2019s Maggie Coles-Lyster had a fine ride, finishing second behind Dutch ace Lorena Wiebes.<\/a><\/p>\n Saturday\u2019s penultimate stage is from Llanidloes to Hay-on-Wye for a total of 138.3km.<\/p>\n
Grove was notified of the finding and is subject to a mandatory provisional suspension under the WADA and UCI regulations. Grove was the 2025 South African national champion.<\/p>\n
