Don’t expect the famous Wanamaker Trophy to be featured prominently at the Scheffler household.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After dominating the course and the field at Quail Hollow to win his first PGA Championship <\/a>and – third career major on Sunday – Scottie Scheffler<\/a> shrugged when he was asked where he would put the major trophy.<\/p>\n

“Where’s it going to go? I have a room in my house called ‘The Golf Room’ and that’s where all my crap goes,” Scheffler said.<\/p>\n

“It’s just a room full of all my golf junk. I’ve got some trophies in there as well and that’s probably where this one will go.<\/p>\n

“I’d like to say that it’s nicely presented, but it’s not.”<\/p>\n

After a slow start, Scheffler established a big lead heading in to Sunday’s final round – and while the final leaderboard made for a dominant win, Scheffler had to see off a spirited challenge.<\/p>\n

Spain’s Jon Rahm came closest, drawing to within one shot of with world no.1 Scheffler at one point only to blow his challenge<\/a> with five dropped shots in the last three holes.<\/p>\n

Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> also threatened to get into a position to post a score that would have left the final groups thinking and chasing.<\/p>\n

However two dropped shots in his last six holes left him in a tie for second with Davis Riley and Harris English.<\/p>\n

It is Scheffler’s third major victory and the first one that didn’t come with a green jacket.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old won the Masters<\/a> in 2022 and 2024, and can now add the 2025 PGA Championship to his resume.<\/p>\n

He now has half of the titles required for a career Grand Slam, with the US Open at Oakmont in June, and The Open at Royal Portrush in July standing in front of him this year.<\/p>\n

Victories in those events not only would give him three majors in a calendar year, it would round out the Grand Slam in just over three years having won his first at Augusta in 2022.<\/p>\n

The same amount of time it took Tiger Woods to achieve the feat.<\/p>\n

After a slow – by his standards – start to the season, Scheffler won the week the CJ Cup with a 31-under-par total for his four rounds, and went back-to-back with his PGA success at Quail Hollow.<\/p>\n

Although he admitted afterward that is did not come easy – despite the fact in 10 events this season he has two titles, one runners-up finish and seven top 10 finishes.<\/p>\n

“I felt like this was as hard as I battled for a tournament in my career,” Scheffler said.<\/p>\n

“This was a pretty challenging week.<\/p>\n

“After this week, I’m going to go home and get ready for next week’s tournament, and the show goes on,” Scheffler said.<\/p>\n

“It’s an endless pursuit and it’s a lot of fun. It’s definitely one of the great joys of my life to be able to compete out here.”<\/p>\n

His next PGA Tour<\/a> stop will be at Colonial, where he will look to keep it rolling.<\/p>\n

Scheffler owns 15 PGA Tour victories that incredibly have all come in his last 70 starts.<\/p>\n

With the victory, he has joined rarefied air, joining arguably the sport’s two greatest champions.<\/p>\n
