{"id":116169,"date":"2025-05-20T04:43:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-20T04:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/116169\/"},"modified":"2025-05-20T04:43:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T04:43:09","slug":"when-carlos-alcaraz-plans-to-arrive-at-roland-garros-after-italian-open-final-victory-over-jannik-sinner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/116169\/","title":{"rendered":"When Carlos Alcaraz plans to arrive at Roland Garros after Italian Open final victory over Jannik Sinner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Carlos Alcaraz now has his sights set on the second Grand Slam of the year, as the Spaniard gets set to defend his Roland Garros title. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz<\/a> is in fine form this clay season, with two Masters 1000 titles clinched on the dirt in April and May. <\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard won the Monte-Carlo Masters last month and emerged victorious in the Eternal City, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-told-he-made-a-huge-error-in-the-first-set-against-carlos-alcaraz-which-ended-up-hurting-him-badly-in-the-italian-open-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner<\/a> to win his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/italian-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian Open<\/a> title.<\/p>\n<p>With his triumph over the Italian, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/carlos-alcaraz-has-achieved-something-only-roger-federer-and-lleyton-hewitt-can-match-after-winning-the-italian-open-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz became the fifth youngest player<\/a> in the Open Era to win ten or more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> titles on clay. <\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz is the reigning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">French Open<\/a> champion, having won the title in the 2024 final against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander Zverev<\/a>, and will look to be the first since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/rafael-nadal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rafael Nadal<\/a> in 2020 to successfully defend the crown in Paris. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"701\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2156332073-1-1024x701.jpg\" alt=\"2024 French Open - Day 15\" \/>Photo by Christian Liewig \u2013 Corbis\/Getty ImagesCarlos Alcaraz\u2019s plans for Roland Garros preparation ahead of title defence<\/p>\n<p>As reported by Spanish outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marca.com\/tenis\/roland-garros\/2025\/05\/19\/carlos-alcaraz-entrenara-primera-vez-jueves-tierra-roland-garros.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MARCA<\/a>, Alcaraz and his team will travel to Paris on Wednesday, but the player won\u2019t have his first training session until Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>It will leave three days\u2019 rest for the Rome champion, after playing the final on Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>He will be present for the draw, in which he will be the second seed, after surpassing Zverev in the ATP rankings to become world number two. <\/p>\n<p>Zverev, who lost in the quarter-final of the Italian Open, is playing at the Hamburg Open, where he is looking to defend points having made the final last year. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2215800170-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Internazionali BNL D'Italia 2025 - Day Fourteen\" \/>Photo by Tullio Puglia\/Getty ImagesCarlos Alcaraz\u2019s route to his first Roland Garros title in 2024<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz\u2019s 2024 Roland Garros title pursuit began with two comfortable victories over J.J.
