Make the most of the weather while it lasts with a visit to this gorgeous park\"QueensQueens Park, Heywood(Image: Manchester Evening News)<\/p>\n

It feels like we\u2019ve been having glorious weather for weeks; rain seems like a distant memory and sunglasses and sun cream have become the norm. In fact it\u2019s been the driest start to the year since 1929.<\/p>\n

But the Met Office has warned that change is on its way<\/a>, with showers forecast for the bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

Until then the weather is still set to be mild and sunny with a few cloudy intervals, so it\u2019s a good idea to make the most of it and get outside to soak up those rays.<\/p>\n

Luckily there\u2019s loads of incredible parks, gardens and green spaces to visit across Greater Manchester, including the \u2018beautiful\u2019 Queen\u2019s Park in Heywood<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Green Flag-awarded park has a range of facilities catering for everyone from tiny tots to couples enjoying a stroll in the sun.<\/p>\n

At the heart of the park is a picturesque boating lake home to various waterfowl and providing a tranquil spot to escape the stresses of daily life<\/p>\n

There are tree-lined paths where you spot cheeky squirrels and immerse yourself in nature, a magnificent fountain, bowling green and a bandstand.<\/p>\n

The park is a haven for kids with two playgrounds including a toddler\u2019s play area, a tennis court, and a BMX track.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s an onsite cafe which is open daily from 10am to 3pm, and from 9am on Saturdays and Sundays, which sells breakfasts, light meals, snacks, hot and cold drinks and ice cream – perfect for those sunny days.<\/p>\n

The park has received dozens of five star reviews on Google. One visitor, Bradley: \u201cThis park is beautiful. If you do some exploring, you can really find yourself in some cracking secluded slots.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife and I are also big fans of the wildlife in this park, often it sneaks up on you in the most delightful way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another visitor, Vee, wrote: \u201cQueens Park is a beautifully maintained park with tons of facilities. It\u2019s family and dog friendly and wheelchair accessible all around the park.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s the potential to go on nature walks beyond the park as well. There\u2019s a band stand, various exercise areas, a cafe and I believe the BMX track is being reinstated at some point as well. Lots of wildlife and beautiful trees.\u201d<\/p>\n
