Diane Morgan fans have been calling for the comedian’s new show Ann Droid to air a festive special to replace the recently axed Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas and New Year’s specials.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement that Mrs Brown’s Boys won’t air this festive season<\/a> due to star Brendan O’Carroll needing surgery for a fractured jaw, some have been suggesting that the BBC has now the opportunity to air a different comedy special.<\/p>\n

“As there is no boring Mrs Browns Boys this christmas, time to get Diane Morgan on the phone! Ann Droid xmas show special PLEASE!!!” one person wrote<\/a> on Twitter\/X.<\/p>\n

“Can we PLEASE have AnnDroid Christmas & New Year special instead that actually is funny,” someone else posted<\/a>, while a third fan said<\/a>: “thankfully Mrs Browns Boys Christmas specials have been cancelled, I suggest an Ann droid special to replace it”.<\/p>\n

“Christmas special of Ann Droid would be perfect!” yet another fan wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, others have also called for a festive double bill with Ann Droid and Motherland spin-off Amandaland, starring Lucy Punch in the titular role.<\/p>\n

“If the BBC have any sense they’ll be getting these two on the phone IMMEDIATELY,” said one account posted<\/a>, which promoted a user to suggest<\/a> the crossover be titled Amandadroid. <\/p>\n

As we wait and see if the BBC takes the internet’s advice, Mrs Brown’s Boys fans will likely get some new episodes next year.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post announcing the cancellation of the series’ Christmas and New Year’s specials, O’Carroll said that he has been “talking with the BBC about getting Mrs Brown’s Boys back on the screen in 2027”. <\/p>\n
