With production on Marvel Television\u2019s sole 2027 streaming project, Daredevil: Born Again<\/strong> Season 3 wrapped and principal photography on Marvel Studios sole 2027 theatrical project, Avengers: Secret Wars<\/strong>, set to pick up in September, evidence suggests that Kevin Feige and the Marvel Parliament are hard at work at the first wave of projects set to kick off its post-Multiverse Saga slate.<\/p>\n

Feige used convention season to set the release dates for a trio of 2028 films<\/a> and to low-key confirm that Nova<\/strong><\/a>, a project that\u2019s been through every twist<\/a> and turn imaginable in the past four years<\/a> of development, is now back in the works as a film<\/a>. Along the way, Disney beefed up Marvel\u2019s 2029 theatrical slate<\/a>, adding a third film. Additionally, a report that the studio will continue developing live-action streaming projects<\/a> has led to the realization that whatever the new saga will be called, it will kick off rather robustly.<\/p>\n

For years, tracking new projects has been made easier by identifying the studio\u2019s production companies. Those production companies typically has names that were easily connected to projects, such as Solve Everything being used as the name of the company under which The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/strong> was made<\/a>. Over time, as Disney has adjusted its naming conventions, making it a little harder, but not impossible, to connect the dots between production companies and the identities of their films. And so let\u2019s connect what we can\u2026<\/p>\n

As of now, there are five production companies known to exist for projects that have not yet been made: Atlas Hall, Dredge, Fragment, Throttle and Veil. <\/p>\n

Of those five, it is confirmed that the untitled X-Men movie will film in the UK under Atlas Hall<\/a> and that Black Panther III<\/strong> will be produced under Fragment. The recently created Throttle Productions<\/a>, which so far looks to be filming in the United States<\/a>, seems to be a perfect fit for Ryan Gosling\u2019s Ghost Rider<\/strong>. That leaves a pair of production company to match with projects, which is a little tough to do when the studio has not officially announced any additional projects.<\/p>\n

Of the two remaining, one (Dredge) has been registered as a theatrical production and the other (Veil) as a television production. Both look to be set to film in the UK. <\/p>\n

Given the knowledge that Nova<\/strong> will be a film and that Waldron<\/strong> has been working on the script for some time and may well be directing, it\u2019s possible that the project might be one of the studio\u2019s three 2029 films. It\u2019s known that when it was being developed for streaming, Nova<\/strong> was going to feature Richard Rider taking on the Annihilation Wave. A connection can be made between Marvel Comics Annihilation<\/strong> event and Dredge Productions (two prison transports, Dredge 01 and Dredge 02, crashed on Earth at the beginning of the the event as seen on the pages of Drax the Destroyer<\/strong>), which makes it reasonable enough to match up Nova with Dredge Productions for now. <\/p>\n

That leaves Veil Productions as the mystery project headed to D+<\/a> without a match. Could it be reference to Madeline Berry, a member of Hank Pym\u2019s Avengers Academy who went by the name of Veil? With the studio looking at creating streaming projects that are less tied to its shared narrative, an ongoing Avengers Academy<\/strong> series might not be the worst idea, especially given the success of Disney\u2019s Percy Jackson<\/strong> series. Avengers: Academy<\/strong> doesn\u2019t necessarily fit well with the seeming Netflixification of Marvel Television, however, nor does it seem to fit well with the \u201cMutant Saga.\u201d<\/p>\n

One incredibly unlikely possibility is that the studio chose Veil as a reference to something hidden from sight, such as the Inhuman city of Attilan. Marvel\u2019s Inhumans<\/strong> series was an unmitigated disaster and outside of an appearance by Black Bolt in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/strong>, they\u2019ve not been incorporated into the MCU. However, with Doomsday<\/strong> and Secret Wars<\/strong> pushing the reset button to some extent, Marvel Studios could put its own spin on the Inhumans, allowing them to join the party and be part of a potential cosmic expansion in projects such as Nova<\/strong> or sequels to The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/strong>. In this case, a Special Presentation might be enough to introduce the Royal Family, setting the stage for future appearances.<\/p>\n
