At the time of writing this, I have seen 40 shows at this year\u2019s Edinburgh Festival. This is the only one that has made me cry. This show is outstanding, wonderful and beautiful. <\/p>\n

This show didn\u2019t just make me cry, it made feel deeply, laugh, smile and it\u2019s hard to stop thinking about it afterwards. I\u2019m so glad Cheeyang Ng <\/strong>brought Legendary to Edinburgh and I feel grateful that I was able to see it. <\/p>\n

Engaging <\/p>\n

From the beginning of the show, Cheeyang Ng<\/strong> does a good job of engaging the audience by conducting them to sing along with specific parts. It made the room feel more together in the experience. And in general, the music is great! <\/p>\n

While Cheeyang Ng <\/strong>sang and told the story, another person was playing the keyboard. A lot is done with just these two people, some small props and simple but effective lighting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Legendary uses music to wonderfully weave ancient myths into the personal story being told. It is one of identity, finding yourself and loss. With genuinely funny parts woven in too. <\/p>\n

Moved to Tears<\/p>\n

Most of the way through this show I was thinking, \u201cThis is good, really solid performance,\u201d and I also noticed some people sniffling and thought, \u201cI can understand how someone would be moved to tears by this\u201d but I was holding out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then that changed, and oh wow!\u00a0<\/p>\n

After a certain point, which I won\u2019t reveal any details of, I was crying until the end of the show. It was so moving and beautiful.\u00a0But somehow there were still moments Cheeyang Ng<\/strong> managed to make me laugh through the tears. <\/p>\n

The person next to me, who was also crying, handed me a tissue. (If that person is by chance reading this, thank you again kind stranger) <\/p>\n

Many of the other audience members were crying too. The room felt unified in being moved by this beautiful piece of art. <\/p>\n

Goosebumps<\/p>\n

Cheeyang Ng\u2019s <\/strong>vocal performance is absolutely solid, and combined with their passion, gave me goosebumps.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Even for those who would not resonate with the themes as deeply as I did, this is still a very well done, fantastic and impactful show to see.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Make sure you bring tissues, this show is moving, beautiful and outstanding! <\/p>\n
