A new app described as \u201cLetterboxd for clubbing\u201d has launched, allowing music fans to give star ratings to DJ sets,\u00a0festivals\u00a0and live shows.<\/p>\n
Called Seen Live, the free app serves as a personal archive where users can record the club nights,\u00a0concerts\u00a0and other live music performances they have attended.<\/p>\n
It allows you to search for past and upcoming events, rate shows out of five stars, share your experiences, upload photos and\u00a0videos\u00a0and create a personal timeline of your nightlife and live music activity.<\/p>\n
Seen Live also includes social and discovery features, allowing people to follow friends and other music fans, browse popular performances and find new artists,\u00a0DJs\u00a0and venues through community reviews.<\/p>\n
It has been created by Jordan Taylor, the founder of club culture platform Tough Luck, and he has said\u00a0(via\u00a0Mixmag<\/a>): \u201cI built Seen Live because I realised that I couldn\u2019t remember half of the artists and DJs I\u2019d seen live after a while, and all the photos and videos from those nights were buried somewhere in my camera roll with no context.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted one place to look back on\u00a0everything, a proper archive of every show I\u2019d ever been to,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Taylor went on to say that the platform would give users somewhere to \u201cshare their experiences of nights out\u201d, with the hope that they could \u201cdiscover new artists through each other\u2019s reviews and find their next\u00a0favourite\u00a0DJ from someone who was actually in the room\u201d.<\/p>\n Seen Live is currently available through Apple\u2019s App Store for iPhone and iPad\u00a0here<\/a>, although an Android edition is not currently available.<\/p>\n Letterboxd is a film-based social platform that allows users to log, review and rate the movies they watch, create\u00a0lists\u00a0and follow other viewers. Last year,\u00a0it also launched its own in-app film rental service<\/a>.\u00a0Charli XCX<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Paul McCartney<\/a>\u00a0are among the high-profile Letterboxd users.<\/p>\n
