Armed police were called to a popular park in Bristol after receiving reports of a fight<\/a> involving a “number of males” with a suggestion weapons may have been involved.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at Stoke Park at around 2.18pm.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police<\/a> officers – some of whom were armed – were called because of reports of weapons being used.<\/p>\n

A witness said they saw police along Romney Road, in Lockleaze<\/a>, at the entrances to the park.<\/p>\n

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.<\/p>\n

He remains in police custody at this time, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers remain in the area and enquiries are being carried out into the incident.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at 2.18pm to reports of an altercation involving a number of males in Stoke Park, Bristol.<\/p>\n

“Police attended, including armed officers, due to a suggestion there may have been weapons involved.<\/p>\n

“A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.<\/p>\n

“He remains in police custody.<\/p>\n
