SHEFFIELD UNITED\u2019S X account was hacked as dozens of posts slamming rival Wednesday captain Barry Bannan were shared online.<\/p>\n

The security breach occurred on Monday as the Blades<\/a> prepare for this weekend\u2019s Championship playoff final against Sunderland.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chris Wilder\u2019s men are hoping to seal a dramatic return to the Premier League<\/a> with victory over the Black Cats at Wembley.<\/a><\/p>\n

But on social media, United did not enjoy a smooth ride.<\/p>\n

Their X account was briefly taken over by hackers, who fired out a series of posts to the club\u2019s 600,000 followers.<\/p>\n

And each one took aim at Scottish midfielder Bannan, who captains rivals Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

A post from United\u2019s hacked X account read: \u201cLet\u2019s forget Barry Bannan. New topic: MUFC > City.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another, answering the question \u201cscore predictions for Sunday??\u201d, added: \u201cOh s**t. Just figured out we\u2019re playing a final.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgainst SUNDERLAND? Is this a Metaverse? Easy win.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s hacked account then retweeted a series of anti-Bannan posts from other users.<\/p>\n

And fans of other clubs rushed online to react.<\/p>\n
