\n\tBrad Pitt<\/a> and director David Ayer<\/a> will hit this year\u2019s San Sebastian Film Festival<\/a> with their latest film, Heart of the Beast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tFrom Paramount Pictures, the movie will screen out of competition at the Spanish festival. Both Pitt and Ayer are expected to attend the event, as the Oscar-winning star plays a former Special Forces officer who, accompanied by his retired combat dog, must survive in the Alaskan wilderness following a harrowing plane crash.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt marks Pitt\u2019s first visit to the festival since his 2009 presentation of Inglourious Basterds alongside filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.<\/p>\n

\n\tAyer\u2019s credits include Training Day, Suicide Squad, End of Watch, The Tax Collector and Sabotage. His latest feature is written by Cameron Alexander and reunites him with Pitt (who starred in Ayer\u2019s Fury). The film\u2019s cast also includes J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. Pitt produces the film alongside Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen and Ayer, with Damien Chazelle among its executive producers.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith the addition of Heart of the Beast, the list of titles in San Sebastian\u2019s official selection is now complete. The 74th edition includes 17 films in competition, three out of competition and five special screenings.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year\u2019s batch boasts opening film<\/a> Ghost Song from Faith Akin, closer Le Faux Soir from Micha\u00ebl R. Roskam, as well as a slew of other projects from Mike Leigh<\/a> (Tender Loving Care), Pablo Larra\u00edn (My Sad Dead) and Jaime Lorente<\/a> (The Bad Son). Other competition highlights include\u00a0Milo\u00a0from director Nicole Garcia (Oran), a French drama featuring\u00a0Marion Cotillard\u00a0and\u00a0Lurker\u00a0star Th\u00e9odore Pellerin; and\u00a0In My Father\u2019s Room, the directorial debut of Japanese novelist Maha Harada.<\/p>\n
