for project owners, it will accelerate the shift toward more sustainable practices.

The scheme has been welcomed across the logistics industry

Since March 2025, LCBI has brought together a consortium of major real estate stakeholders to collaborate on defining a shared low-carbon standard across Europe: AEW, APRC Group, BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, Baytree, GSE, Lidl, Virtuo Industrial Property, and more recently Groupe IDEC and STEF.

Throughout the entire work, LCBI ensured continuous connection with the broader logistics industry through its strategic partnership with AFILOG.

Commenting on the extension, Thierry Laquitaine, head of SRI Europe, AEW, said: “As an asset manager with a significant logistics portfolio across Europe, we need tools that allow us to assess, compare and report on the carbon performance of our assets constantly.

“LCBI provides a common language for the whole European industry, and a clear signal to the market that low-carbon logistics assets deserve to be valued differently.”

Tony Morais, managing director, GROUPE IDEC INGENIERIE, added: “At IDEC, reducing the carbon footprint of our developments is central to how we build.

“What LCBI brings is something we have been waiting for: an objective, third-party framework that makes our efforts visible and objectively comparable across Europe.

“For our clients and tenants, this certification scheme will serve as a driver for decision-making.”

Image: iStock | © Fahroni LCBI, the first pan-European standard for whole life-cycle carbon measurement of buildings, has…

[5174
24825,2000,299,5187,3739,66576
post-1168588","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-eu","tag-carbon-emissions","tag-eu","tag-europe","tag-european","tag-net-zero","tag-sustainable-construction
["GET
