Jamie T<\/a> has revealed that his upcoming album was written from voice notes recorded throughout his entire career.<\/p>\n

The indie icon recently announced his new album, \u2018Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)\u2019, which is due for release on October 9 via Polydor Records. It will mark the highly anticipated follow-up to Jamie\u2019s fifth album \u2018The Theory of Whatever<\/a>\u2019 which dropped in 2022.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the album\u2019s release, he\u2019s already shared the lead single \u20183310\u2019<\/a> and, last week, he previewed other new material during a last-minute, intimate gig at London\u2019s Scala<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, he\u2019s shared further information about the album. Posting on X yesterday (Monday August 24), Jamie revealed that the cover was shot by photographer tamp.two<\/a>, \u201cA brilliant artist and now friend I met on the seafront in Bognor Regis,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cBognor holds a rather special place in my heart,\u201d Jamie continued. \u201cIt reminds me of good times, family and healing. With a reputation as \u2018Britain\u2019s worst seaside town\u2019 we were keen to show you the beauty the tabloids leave out of their smear campaigns. Bognor is a beautiful place and the people are even better.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then went on to reflect on his 2023 headline gig at Finsbury Park<\/a> \u2013 his biggest performance to date. \u201cAfter playing Finsbury Park, I stopped for the first time in what seemed like my whole career. I felt like something was over. I felt I wanted to move on. The past can become a burden if you let it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings can stick around in your mind and ruminate for years. What ifs, wrong steps, heartbreak, loss. It became clear to me that to move forward I would have to process the journey I\u2019ve been on,\u201d he added. \u201cTo extract and untangle myself from the past in order to put it to bed . Recorded over roughly a hundred days, I used voice memos spanning my whole career to construct the album.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Ghosts (100 Days Of Morning)\u2019 will be released on October 9 via Polydor Records. White co-produced two of the 11 tracks, while\u00a0Blur<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Damon Albarn<\/a>\u00a0features on and co-wrote \u2018Cocktail\u2019. A press release described the album as a \u201ccollection of former ghosts (of ideas) brought to life during a difficult time in his life\u201d.<\/p>\n

Since dropping his last album, Jamie T has played his largest-ever headline show at Finsbury Park in 2023, supported by the likes of\u00a0IDLES<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kojey Radical<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Treays\u2019 2023 track \u2018Hippodrome\u2019 was sampled by\u00a0Fred Again..<\/a>\u00a0on his single\u00a0\u2018Lights Burn Dimmer\u2019<\/a>. The pair performed the track live at a gig at London\u2019s Alexandra Palace, which was\u00a0one of the producer\u2019s \u201910 Shows in 10 Weeks in 10 Cities\u2019 series<\/a>.<\/p>\n
