Harry Styles<\/a> has opened up about why he took some time away from the spotlight, admitting that he was \u201ca little bit in my head\u201d.<\/p>\n After finishing his 2023 solo tour, the former One Direction star returned to the industry with a bang with his latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally<\/a>, this March.<\/p>\n In a new interview with W Magazine<\/a>, the performer has explained that he \u201ctook time off\u201d to prioritise \u201cliving from the inside out\u201d as a way to fend off external pressures and opinions.<\/p>\n The \u2018Pop\u2019 singer explained: \u201cA big part of the break was about recalibrating the image of myself that I felt I was accidentally swallowing all the time \u2013 that was being reflected back at me but that I didn\u2019t want necessarily.\u201d<\/p>\n He added reflectively, \u201cIt\u2019s such an unnatural thing to be shown other people\u2019s perception of you all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n This unusual relationship meant that Styles found himself \u201ca little bit in my head about moving through the world and feeling very aware of how everything was being perceived toward the end of the last tour. A lot of the time off was about getting back to living from the inside out.\u201d<\/p>\n It became a question of relationality, with the star explaining that the heightened \u201cemphasis\u201d on his music being self-referential led to \u201ca really complex relationship to have with yourself<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n Styles eventually found himself becoming \u201cso disconnected from the world, the universe and people. Then you stop being able to relate.\u201d<\/p>\n However, the performer has formed a healthier relationship with fame, sharing: \u201cIt\u2019s actually really liberating to acknowledge that it\u2019s so much bigger than me.\u201d<\/p>\n Styles\u2019 impressive career boasts four UK number one singles and three UK number one albums alongside several Brit and Grammy awards.<\/p>\n The performer will soon kick off his 30-show residency in New York at Madison Square Garden, which will keep him in the Big Apple from August 26th until October 31st. Styles also has\u00a0dates lined up<\/a>\u00a0in Melbourne and Sydney later this year.<\/p>\n
