{"id":11696,"date":"2025-04-11T19:55:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T19:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/11696\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T19:55:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T19:55:08","slug":"fia-announce-punishment-for-f1-star-at-bahrain-gp-after-dicey-team-mate-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/11696\/","title":{"rendered":"FIA announce punishment for F1 star at Bahrain GP after dicey team-mate incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><a title=\"Alex Albon\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/alexander-albon\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Albon<\/a> has been hit with a fine at the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend for an incident which took place during the first session of action. &#13;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\nThe Williams driver was charged by the stewards with <a title=\"unnecessarily impeding another driver\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/F1\/status\/1910669276031172907\" target=\"_blank\">unnecessarily impeding another driver<\/a> late on in FP1, with that other driver being his own team-mate. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nThat team-mate, in this instance, wasn&#8217;t actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/carlos-sainz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Sainz<\/a> but in fact, the team&#8217;s academy star Luke Browning, the rookie driver who was dropped into the second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-teams\/williams-racing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Williams<\/a> seat for the session as part of the team&#8217;s compliance with new FIA regulations. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nBrowning showed out well in the hour&#8217;s running, the fastest of the <b><a title=\"six drivers parachuted in for the session\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-news\/1046474\/new-f1-driver-lineup-confirmed-fp1-six-drivers-replaced-bahrain-gp-session\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">six drivers parachuted in for the session<\/a><\/b>, beating young drivers in nominally faster cars \u2013 including Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>Albon hit with hefty fine at Bahrain Grand Prix<\/p>\n<p>\nAlbon was fined \u20ac7,500 for the incident, which was seen by Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich from his vantage point in his own hour of track action, noting \u201cWowch!
