{"id":117017,"date":"2025-05-20T12:11:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-20T12:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/117017\/"},"modified":"2025-05-20T12:11:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T12:11:08","slug":"hotazhell-in-good-form-ahead-of-saturdays-irish-2000-guineas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/117017\/","title":{"rendered":"Hotazhell in good form ahead of Saturday&#8217;s Irish 2000 Guineas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Connections are hoping the decision to skip the French 2000 Guineas will pay off with leading Irish 2000 Guineas contender Hotazhell.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportinglife.com\/racing\/profiles\/horse\/1145080\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hotazhell<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 who beat leading Derby hope Delacroix by a nose in last year\u2019s William Hill Futurity Trophy Stakes on soft ground &#8211; was a late non-runner from the French 2000 Guineas earlier this month but is reported to be on track for Saturday\u2019s Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh. <\/p>\n<p>The ground is currently described as \u2018good\u2019 at the County Kildare venue, with weather forecasts suggesting the track will receive some rain on Monday evening and Saturday morning before the \u20ac500,000 contest. <\/p>\n<p>Kate Harrington, daughter of and assistant trainer to Jessica Harrington, told the Nick Luck Daily Podcast: \u201cShane [Foley] rode him this morning and he was happy so it\u2019s all systems go for Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were all set to go at Longchamp, but Shane rode in one of the earlier races and wasn\u2019t happy on the ground which was clearly good to firm \u2013 they broke the track record which justified our decision not to run him. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s had an easy week, a good breeze today, and it\u2019s all systems go for Saturday.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Harrington also has <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportinglife.com\/racing\/profiles\/horse\/1150272\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Green Impact<\/a><\/strong> amongst the five-day entries but reports that the Wootton Bassett colt \u2013 who was sixth in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on his seasonal reappearance \u2013 will instead head for the Qatar Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on June 1. <\/p>\n<p>She explained: \u201cGreen Impact came out of the race well and our plan at the moment is to go for the French Derby rather than Epsom. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe felt that going up to 10 furlongs with him rather than jumping straight up from a mile to a mile and a half would be a good steppingstone to doing that later in the season.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><strong>Safer gambling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are committed in our support of safer gambling.
