Martin Clunes<\/a>‘s new British comedy has confirmed its UK release date. <\/p>\n

According to the synopsis, Mother’s Pride<\/a> tells the story of “a failing pub, a divided community and a grieving family whose lives are changed by brewing real ale and entering the Great British beer awards.”<\/p>\n

The movie, which wrapped filming last autumn, will arrive in cinemas on September 26, 2025. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Clunes will appear alongside The Inbetweeners<\/a>‘ James Buckley, Better Man’s Jonno Davies, Poldark<\/a> star Gabriella Wilde, Game of Thrones<\/a> actor Mark Addy, and Fisherman’s Friends: One and All star Lana Moorcroft.<\/p>\n

The cast also features Lockwood & Co<\/a>‘s Luke Treadaway, The Full Monty star Miles Jupp, Starstruck’s Lola-Rose Maxwell, A Clever Woman’s Josie Lawrence, Spent actor Karl Collins, Trigger Point<\/a>‘s Stephen Leask, and Code 404 star Emily Lloyd-Saini.<\/p>\n

Mother’s Pride was written by Fisherman’s Friends<\/a> writer-directors Nick Moorcroft and Meg Leonard. Moorcroft is also directing the project, while Leonard is serving as executive producer.<\/p>\n

In a previous interview with The Guardian<\/a>, the filmmakers described the movie as “a love-letter to family, community, real ale and Britain’s forgotten rural traditions”. <\/p>\n

Inspired by the near loss of their own community pubs, the duo aimed to explore some serious issues within the upcoming comedy. <\/p>\n

“Pubs are really important for communities, bringing people together, which is especially pertinent with Covid as they tackle loneliness and social isolation,” said Moorcroft. “But on our location scouting, we were visiting pubs that have been empty for two years \u2013 and will never become pubs again. Each is filled with history and memories. It’s really sad.”<\/p>\n

Leonard said the losses were “particularly resonant when we’re all lacking human connection” because of Covid. “That’s why our film feels important to make now.”<\/p>\n
