Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz<\/a> has been forced to delete a tribute to the late country music superstar Dolly Parton<\/a> after the account he quoted quickly changed its username to humiliate him. <\/p>\n Responding to Parton\u2019s sad passing<\/a> this week, Cruz reposted on X a clip from the @lebatardshowfan account<\/a> of her appearing on NBC\u2019s The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson from September 1979 in which she serenaded the host with a specially written song to thank him for supporting her.<\/p>\n \u201cLegend,\u201d the senator wrote in praise of the performance, adding teardrop, heart and prayer emojis.<\/p>\n However, as soon as his post went up, the account holder changed his username from simply \u201cMark\u201d to \u201cTed Cruz\u2019s tiny d***\u201d so that it appeared live beneath his message, inviting ridicule.<\/p>\n The poster also responded to the Republican in savage style, writing<\/a>: \u201cThanks for the retweet, Ted. Remember in 2016 you told the RNC Convention to \u2018vote your conscience\u2019 and then ultimately gave up having any backbone and backed Trump who called your wife ugly? Fun times.\u201d<\/p>\n The post was up on the Senator\u2019s feed for at least 17 hours before Cruz noticed and deleted it.<\/p>\n Many relished his latest social media embarrassment, with the anti-Trump Lincoln Project hailing it as \u201cQT of the year, folks\u201d<\/a> and the Tucker Carlson Network declaring that \u201cMark\u201d \u2013 who has since reverted to his original name \u2013 was likewise a legend<\/a>. <\/p>\n Brian Krassenstein accused Cruz of \u201cself-trolling\u201d<\/a> while others said<\/a> his post \u201cmay be the greatest Conservative Self-Own ever\u201d and claimed<\/a> he was \u201cthe kinda person who absolutely would have a separate account for his diminutive genitalia.\u201d <\/p>\n Another person called<\/a> the episode \u201cthe second funniest thing to ever happen to Ted Cruz on Twitter,\u201d likely alluding to the notorious moment from September 2017 when his official account liked a two-minute clip from an adult film<\/a> tweeted out by \u201cSexuallPosts,\u201d a gaffe subsequently blamed on an unnamed staffer.<\/p>\n Cory Chase, the adult actress who starred in the scene, later told The Daily Beast she was \u201cnot a fan\u201d of Cruz<\/a> and found it \u201cvery weird that someone like him would like something like that,\u201d compounding matters.<\/p>\n The senator is no stranger to public embarrassments, however.
